Betwixmas Walk in the North Kent Downs

After the excesses of Christmas, it feels essential to get outside and back in touch with the natural world; to leave behind the decorations and just go for a walk, no matter the weather.  So, today the temperature was around 6° C although it felt quite a bit warmer when the sun came out or when we were in the woodlands.  It rained too but only lightly.  It's funny to think that Indian elephants were brought thousands of miles to Kent to be used in building a castle and shaping the landscape.

Chilham is a place to return to if only to visit the cosy pub and tea rooms!
